Together in Prayer – December, 2019
Anticipation – the Jews anticipated the coming of a Messiah; we rejoice that he has come and anticipate his second coming. The heart of the Father is anticipating the time when every tribe and tongue and nation will be around his throne in glory. As you pray in anticipation of God’s answers, give him the glory.
Together in prayer,
The Global Recordings USA Team

REJOICE: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulder. And his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Is. 9:6
The 2020 budget: The board of directors has approved next year’s budget with significant increases for training new recordists and funding new recordings. Pray for God’s supply.
IT project: Pray for Kevin and Doug who are in the midst of upgrading computer systems in the USA office. Pray that all goes well with minimum disruption of work. Thank God for this technology.
Christians in China: It is not easy for Christians to live under the Communist rule in China which oppresses those who long to live freely as followers of Christ. GRN’s Good News has been distributed in many of 51 indigenous languages that GRN has available in China.
January plans: Larry DeVilbiss is planning a two-week trip to Colombia for recording in the Epera: Baudo language and for training potential new recordists. Pray that all the details come together.
The Aloun of Togo: This group is mostly Muslim. Ask God to provide a way for the GRN team in Togo to connect with this group so they can record and distribute the gospel story giving them a true hope for eternity.
The 5fish phone app: This app is GRN’s very user-friendly tool for sharing the gospel message with people of non-English speaking backgrounds. May many use 5fish in everyday situations with ethnic groups and immigrants.
Praise: “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them. He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David.” Luke 1:68-69
Lahoo people of Bangladesh: Pray the Lord’s Prayer for this unreached group. “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. May your kingdom come in the hearts of the Lahoo people of Bangladesh, and your will be done in their lives as your will is being done in heaven.”
Council Meeting follow-up: Pray for good follow up and for clear communications with the network as decisions made at the recent GRN International Council meetings are shared. Pray these will advance God’s kingdom in many parts of the world.
Never give up: GRN is in a battle and the enemy will tempt us to give up or shrink back from our task. We have a vision to fulfill and we need to be fully persuaded that proclaiming the gospel in every language can be done, must be done, and by God’s grace, will be done.
New recordist at work in Madagascar: Newly-trained recordist Revoma is recording the Masikoro language. This has never been recorded before. Pray Revoma will make accurate recordings that will impact those who will eventually listen to these messages.
Sing praise: “I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.” Psalm 57:9-10 (NIV)
Lifting up worship and praise: With the challenge before us of recording the gospel in every language, ask God to do greater things in GRN. We share the longings of our Father’s loving heart that all people groups will soon lift up worship and praise to the Lamb upon the throne.
GRN Indonesia: Plans are in place for the coming months to record languages in Halmahera Island and West Papua where there is much unrest, racism, and many demonstrations. Pray for a more peaceful situation. Pray for more financial support for this team and for their plans.
Culiacan Project 2020: Preparations have begun already for Culiacan Project 2020 in Mexico. Pray for the advance team as it prepares to house and feed many participants, and assemble ministry materials to use.
USA Staff: Pray for our team here in Temecula, that our journey into the changes coming next year will be filled with rejoicing faith as we follow the Lord’s guidance.
The Ainu people of China: The Ainu people are a nomadic group who need to hear the gospel. Pray that they will come to know there is a loving God who knows them: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you. . .” Jer. 29:11
Income source: We are thankful for the office building we have in Temecula and for the renters now leasing the suites on the lower floor. Thank the Lord with us for this supply of funds.
God is near: “ Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.” Phil. 4:5 (NIV)
Surge in recruitment needed: GRN needs a large number of skilled people to be trained as recordists and logistical support staff. Pray there will be a surge in recruitment, one that will be preceded by stronger connections with local churches from which an influx of new supported workers can come.
Partnerships: The YWAM training center in Redding, CA, is seeking a partnership whereby we help train their recruits in recording with the hopes that they will also help record materials for GRN. Pray for the details of this arrangement to come together.
Merry Christmas: “And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.” Luke 2:6–7
Bibles for Asia: The USA team and the Thai team met in Thailand last month to work out plans with Bibles for Asia for collaborative ministry in SW Asian countries. May God’s plans be known by all.
New workers: Give thanks for new volunteers and interns now working through the USA office. Tiago and JD are helping in IT, Wayne works remotely, David and Colleen represent GRN in Eastern USA and Doug in Florida. Pray for all of them.
Immigrant outreach: Gerry Gutierrez works with others to reach the immigrants living in the San Diego area of City Heights. Pray for wisdom in recruiting and coordinating with the local ethnic churches for the future of this outreach.
The Future: “Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. Upon the throne of David and over his kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgement and justice. From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the lord of hosts will perform this.” Is. 9:7
Georgia recordings: Pray for the effectiveness of the recordings that GRN UK leaders, Kenny and Joan McKee, made in Tbilisi, Georgia a few months back. These recorded messages are now available from the GRN website and from the 5fish.mobi phone app.
Thanksgiving: Thank the Lord for all of his goodness to us in 2019 and for his continued leading and provision for 2020. Happy New Year to all of you.
