Together in Prayer – September 2021
Your prayers are not in vain. God is working, the harvest is ripe, and we are trusting Him for the increase. You are valuable links in our chain of efforts to reach the lost. Please continue with us…
Together in prayer,
The Global Recordings USA Team
Training recordists in Mexico: Pray that the course currently underway in Oaxaca will result in well-trained recordists who can join the GRN global pool of mobile media missionaries who will deliver the Good News of Jesus Christ to many language groups of Mexico and beyond.
Goals of the course: Ask for positive experiences for the trainees so that methods taught will become constructive habits to produce culturally relevant and Biblically accurate recordings, resulting in transformed lives.
Travel restrictions: “Please pray for actual times and contacts to record. We already had at least three assistants lined up but due to Covid we will not be able to travel.” Chucho in Mexico
Praise for progress: The trainees have made contact with language helpers nearby and have been able to record in at least two languages. May the Lord empower these messages to bring salvation to the people hearing them.
Spiritual warfare: The enemy of souls often tries to discourage us, but we know Who has the victory! Pray with us against the “wiles of the devil” in any form. Pray for faith to grow larger in each of the trainers and trainees.
Labor Day: As we take time here in the USA to honor workers, may we also take time to praise God for those who labor in His harvest field. The GRN teams worldwide have struggled over the last year and a half, with Covid restrictions and delays. May God’s Word encourage each one.
More workers needed for Brazil: There are currently three trained missionaries on the team in Porto Velho with still very much work to be done. When praying for workers, pray also for their full support, their training, and open doors to take the Gospel to every people group in the country.
Next steps for trainees: As the Mexican course finishes up, pray for recordists as they move to the next phase of ministry. May the Lord prepare their way and bring many opportunities to bring His Word to new people groups.
Devoting ourselves to prayer: Please pray this prayer for the GRN worldwide team and all of its field partners: “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ.” (Col 4: 2-3 NIV).
Pray for India: In India the pandemic is raging and killing many, including Christian leaders. Pray for God’s mercy on the people and for safety for our field partners in India and nearby GRN teams.
Karen Sgaw testimonies: Pray for the Holy Spirit to anoint and use the testimonies about the Lord Jesus on mp3 players in the Karen Sgaw language. Many of these players were recently sent to tell the story of Jesus to the Karen people.
Pai language of Nigeria: Pai is a minor language spoken in several villages of Plateau State. Most take hours of trekking to reach them but Joshua was able to record Bible stories for the Pai people in a fairly accessible location. Ask God to open the Pai hearts to the Gospel and that the people will become true worshipers of the Living God.
Recordings needed in East Africa: Ask God to open the way for one or more GRN recordists to fill two requests to record the Uduk language of South Sudan and the Karamojong language of Uganda. Pray that exposure to the message of salvation will transform many lives in these two groups.
Tribal fighting: Distribution of gospel recordings in the Baringo language of Kenya has been put on hold because tribal fighting has made it unsafe at this time. Pray for the local churches and missions working among this people group to be kept safe and have opportunities to share about the peace that can be found in Christ alone.
GRN active in refugee ministry: Daniel is the GRN leader of France where GRN teams are working in several refugee camps. Often there is persecution. However, many are turning to Christ. Daniel has partners in Italy, Greece, Spain, and Hungary. Pray for Daniel who will visit, train, and equip teams in refugee ministry using GRN materials.
Serving the Master together: Ask the Lord to give everyone who is part of GRN a renewed passion for Himself and an intimacy that permeates every facet of GRN’s ministry as we serve our Master together.
USA Retreat: Pray for the staff, the board of directors and volunteers who are taking a weekend away to renew, refresh, and re-focus on our vision and calling as GRN missionaries. Pray for the Lord’s work in our hearts. Pray for safe travel and sweet times of fellowship together.
Praise for new helpers: Thank the Lord with us for the increase of workers at the Arizona office. New volunteers and staff are coming alongside our team there. Pray that each one will experience the Lord’s provision and guidance as they serve Him.
Recordists needed for Francophone Africa: Pray for the Lord of the Harvest to meet the growing need to have several French-speaking recordists active in Francophone Africa. Their goal is to advance the recording work and the Kingdom of God.
The Gerumawa language of Nigeria: The Gerumawa language is spoken in several villages of northern Nigeria. With patience and perseverance, the gospel story can now be heard and understood in the Gerumawa language. Prayer is now needed to open up the hearts of the Gerumawa to receive God’s wonderful gift of salvation.
Increase in the Philippines: Pray that the Lord will bring increase to the work of GRN in the Philippines. There is much to be done with recording and strategically distributing the Gospel throughout the many islands of this great and diverse country. Pray for more workers, resources, intercessory prayer, and divine opportunities to tell the story of Jesus where it has never before been told.
Trusting the Lord’s timing: The Temecula office building is now fully leased, but we are still waiting on the Lord for an investor to purchase the property. Pray with us that this sale can be accomplished, and funds made available to reach more language groups.
Preserving our audio archives: The GRN audio archive contains materials in over 6,400 languages recorded over a span of eighty years. Pray for the GRN Information Systems Team in Australia and the multiple technologies they use to backup and preserve this irreplaceable resource and asset. Pray for Java language programmers.
Yagnobi people of Tajikistan: Pray for the 20,000 Yagnobi living in Tajikistan. According to Wycliffe Bible Translators and the Joshua Project, there are no known followers of Jesus among this group and no Christian resources available in their language. Pray that God will send His followers to deliver the good news to them in the Yagnobi language.
Follow up: The team in Kenya are following up new Christians among the Maasai people. Pray for strong spiritual growth. Pray for Walter and James and the Kenya team, that God will bless the work of their hands and that many will come to Christ.
Protection: Pray for Dalene and the GRN team in South Africa. Their country is facing increased violence and lawlessness. There was a recent attempt to steal funds from the GRN bank account. Ask God to put a hedge of protection around the work and the workers.
Truck provision: GRN Thailand has needed a dependable truck for use on ministry trips. Praise God that sufficient funds have now been provided! God is faithful. Pray this new vehicle will run well and be kept safe as it is used to engage with those living off the beaten track.
Jon and Clair: Jon and Clair (GRN Thailand) are traveling in the United States to visit family, friends, and supporters. It is difficult to make plans when regulations in Thailand change so quickly due to the COVID situation. Pray for God’s timing and for their ability to return to Thailand at the right time.
Praise for recordings: Recordist Judy gives God all praise for recordings made in two languages in a western Asian country. Pray for her as she edits and does paperwork. Pray for real impact on these two people groups as they hear the Gospel for the first time in their heart languages.
Good scripts: Pray for inspired GRN script writers, those who understand the worldviews of major religions, show sensitivity to local cultures, and use their insights to create meaningful, effective scripts.
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him. (1 John 5:14-15)
