From Tucson to the Ends of the Earth

A global mission with local roots.

Sharing the Gospel in Every Language

Around the world, millions of people have never heard the name of Jesus in a language they understand. Global Recordings Network (GRN) exists to change that. Since 1939, GRN has been recording and sharing the message of salvation through audio and visual tools designed for oral learners—people who learn best by hearing.

Our goal is simple: to tell the story of Jesus in every language. Today, GRN’s teams have produced recordings in more than 6,700 languages and dialects—reaching some of the most remote and unreached people on earth.

A Global Network with One Purpose

GRN operates as a worldwide partnership of missionaries, linguists, and audio specialists who share one mission: to help everyone hear the Gospel in their own tongue. The international headquarters in California coordinates the global strategy, while regional offices—including the U.S. headquarters in Tucson, Arizona—focus on training, recording, and resource distribution.

With teams in more than 30 countries, GRN collaborates with local believers to translate and record Bible stories, evangelistic messages, and discipleship lessons. Every recording is crafted to be accurate, culturally relevant, and easily understood by oral learners.

How the Recording Process Works

The process of creating a new recording involves prayer, preparation, and precision:

  1. Language Identification: GRN teams identify languages with little or no access to the Gospel.
  2. Translation & Partnership: Local believers or translators help translate Biblical stories into the target language.
  3. Recording: Skilled recordists travel—sometimes through jungles, deserts, or restricted regions—to capture the voices of authentic speakers.
  4. Testing & Distribution: The recordings are played back for local listeners to ensure clarity, then edited, processed and shared through the 5fish app, solar-powered players, SD cards, and radio broadcasts.

These recordings become a lasting resource that can be shared again and again by missionaries and churches worldwide.

Why Audio Matters

In many parts of the world, literacy rates are low, and printed Bibles are scarce. But when people hear the Gospel in their own language, everything changes. Audio communication reaches hearts where written words cannot. It crosses barriers of culture, education, and geography—bringing the message of Christ in a form anyone can understand.

Audio allows the Gospel to spread quickly, even in closed or remote regions. It empowers local believers to share their faith confidently, knowing that every word is true to Scripture and clear to their community.

How GRN Partners with Others

GRN works alongside missionaries, translation agencies, and churches to equip them with high-quality audio tools. These recordings often serve as a foundation for evangelism and church planting. By providing free access to thousands of language resources, GRN helps many others extend their ministry reach farther than ever before.

The 5fish mobile app gives anyone with a smartphone access to Gospel recordings in thousands of languages, making it one of the most effective tools for missions today.

The Role of the U.S. Headquarters

The GRN team also connects directly with churches, universities, and mission-minded organizations through national conferences. This year, representatives from the U.S. headquarters will be represented at conferences such as Urbana 25 and Mission Connexion, where visitors can learn more about GRN’s work and explore ways to get involved in missions.

The U.S. team plays a vital part in coordinating global support. From Tucson, Arizona, staff and volunteers handle recording data, resource management, and donor relations. They ensure that field teams have the tools and prayer backing they need to continue reaching the unreached.

While based in Tucson, the work of the U.S. headquarters reaches far beyond Arizona—supporting projects and missionaries around the world.

Join the Mission

If you live near Tucson, you can also connect personally with Global Recordings Network’s U.S. headquarters. Local believers are welcome to visit, volunteer, or learn more about how their time and talents can help the Gospel go farther. Whether assisting with administrative work, supporting technical projects, or joining prayer gatherings, your involvement locally contributes to a global impact.

The Great Commission calls every believer to take part. You can join GRN in helping others hear the Good News for the first time:

  1. Pray: Lift up recording teams, translators, and listeners who are hearing the Gospel in their language.
  2. Give: Your support funds new recordings and helps distribute materials where they’re most needed.
  3. Share: Tell others about GRN’s mission and encourage your church to get involved.

Every prayer, every gift, and every voice contributes to a global movement that is changing eternity—one language at a time.

One Mission, Many Voices

From Tucson to South America to Africa, from Europe to Asia to Australia, Global Recordings Network continues to make God’s Word heard. Together, our offices, partners, and supporters form a worldwide network united in one purpose: to bring the message of Jesus to every tribe and tongue.

“So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” — Romans 10

From Tucson to the ends of the earth, GRN is helping the world hear His voice.
