About Global Recordings Network

For 85 years, God has used GRN to record and share the Gospel in over 6,800 languages—so people everywhere can hear the story of Jesus in their own heart language.

Global Recordings Network creates, preserves, and distributes audio recordings of Bible stories in more than 6,700 languages.

By working with

Missionaries

Faithful messengers who carry the Gospel to the ends of the earth. GRN partners with missionaries serving in remote regions to record and share Bible stories, giving every tribe and tongue the chance to hear about Jesus in their own language.

Local Speakers

Every recording begins with a voice that knows the heart of its people. Local believers help translate and record God’s Word so that the message sounds natural, personal, and true—speaking directly to the hearts of their communities.

Ministry Partners

Churches, mission agencies, and organizations unite with GRN to extend the reach of the Gospel. Together, we distribute recordings, equip local ministries, and ensure the Good News continues to spread to those who have never heard.

we have been able to produce more than one language per week every week since 1939!

What Makes These Recordings Unique?

Impact

For many, this is the first time hearing the story of Jesus in their own heart language — a message that speaks directly to the soul.

Memorable

80% of the world are oral learners. Our auditory recordings make the Good News easy to remember and share.

Visualization

Flip charts and picture books reinforce the recordings, helping people see the story as they hear it — making the Gospel unforgettable.

How Did It All Start?

In 1939, missionary Joy Ridderhof, recovering from illness in Los Angeles, began recording Bible stories so people could hear about Jesus in their own heart language. What started with one woman, one microphone, and a vision has grown into a global network with 6,700+ languages and 40+ offices worldwide, still committed to reaching those with no written language or Scripture.

Where Are We Now?

Today, Global Recordings Network operates in dozens of countries, connecting recordists, translators, and local believers to create and share Gospel recordings in thousands of languages. From our USA headquarters in Tucson, Arizona, we support the worldwide alliance as it distributes these messages through audio players, mobile apps, and face-to-face ministry — reaching people in ways they can truly understand.

Where Are We Going?

We are focused on recording every remaining language without a Gospel message, strengthening partnerships, and equipping more workers to reach the unreached. By combining proven recording methods with new technology, we aim to ensure that every person on earth has the opportunity to hear about Jesus in the language they know best — their heart language.
