Every recording begins with prayer, precision, and purpose.
Prayer is our starting point: we pray that God would work through our recordings to bring people from all nations to know Jesus.
Identify the Need: We ensure that before pressing ‘record’, the language group being reached will truly benefit from a recording.
Research: We dive into language data, cultural patterns, beliefs, and communication styles to tailor a recording that will be meaningful in the heart-language of the people.
Scripts & Translation: Once research is done, we collaborate with ministry partners and language helpers to adapt or translate pre-written scripts into culturally relevant and Biblically accurate materials.
We identify language helpers — respected men or women in the community, believers, skilled storytellers. We rehearse and prepare in the local environment so the voice, tone, and phrasing reflect the listener’s culture and language context.
Location Preparation: Recordists select a quiet, acoustically suitable location — whether a remote village hut or designated studio space.
Equipment: Field-ready gear is used to capture high-quality audio even in challenging settings. For example: microphones, field recorders, headphones, among other robust kit.
Recording: While recording, recordists maintain speaker comfort, monitor audio levels, take notes, listen for background noises, and document key information.
Editing and Programming: After recording, audio is edited (removing noise, stammers, long pauses) and organized into a program. Some programs include sound effects or music, with unique program numbers for internal tracking.
Checking: Because the recordist may not speak the language, native speakers review the recording for clarity, accuracy, and cultural appropriateness. Re-editing or re-recording occurs if needed.
Upload: Once finalized, the recording is uploaded into GRN’s audio database with metadata including language identification and program information.
Distribute: Recordings are delivered via multiple channels — handheld players, SD cards, the 5fish app and micro-distribution in remote areas.
Follow-Up: We often return to the people group to distribute recordings and show how to access them.
Evaluation: We assess usage, track how many physical media or app downloads have been made, and gather feedback from ministry partners and listeners.
Pray for open hearts, new recordings, and workers who carry the Gospel to every tribe and tongue.
